The Forrest & District Plan: Towards 2030 is a community initiative resulting from years of research and consultation between the Forrest and District Community Group, Deakin University’s Local SDGs Program, Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) and the Colac Otway Shire. The Plan was written during the COVID-19 Pandemic and takes into account its health and socio-economic impacts with a dynamic 10-year vision for the gateway to the Otway Ranges. The Plan has six key themes from which five sustainable development inspired goals were derived:
